Results from Mill Pond - April 16, 2005

On April 16th, the NYLGC held its first event of the season.  The format was a 4-person team Scramble and we had 30 golfers participate.  It was more than a bit windy out there making the conditions a bit difficult and the greens were ..... I don't know what the greens were - but they were not exactly in the shape of Augusta National.  Before we started, there was a clinic provided by the golf pro of Mill Pond that most of our golfers attended.  I heard from more than a few people that the golf pro gave some good tips and some very personal attention.  I figured that the winning team would end up with about a seven under par on this windy day, and wouldn't you know it - I gave our group too much credit!  The winning team came in at five under par and every group was within only a few shots of that score.  Congrats to Mary Connell for knocking in a chip from off the green on 17 for a birdie.
