GENERAL
The NYLGC is a golf club
registered with the Metropolitan Golf Association (Metropolitan
Golf Association).
This provides the NYLGC the ability to give each golfer an
official golf handicap index which will be used to calculate
his or her handicap in the NYLGC tournaments. Each golfer
can also use this handicap index in any other golf events.
The two most important things
to remember about keeping your handicap index current and
accurate are: (1) record your scores; and (2) record your
scores accurately. This means that you must apply equitable
score control (ESC) to your actual scores. Please look at
the following FAQ which can help explain some of the golf
handicapping rules better than me.
